Ticket to Hall of Fame!

14/04/2008

FootJoy player Lorena Ochoa dominated once again, closing with a final round 4-under 69 Sunday to win the Corona Championship in her native Mexico. Ochoa fired four rounds in the 60’s (66-66-66-69) to finish with a 25-under 267 total for a convincing 11 shot victory. She has now won three tournaments in a row and four of her first five to begin the year. During those four victories, Ochoa has won twice by 11 shots (also at the HSBC Women’s Champions) and three times has shot all four rounds in the 60’s. The victory was also her second in three years at this event and 21st of her career.

With the win, Lorena qualifies for the LPGA Hall of Fame, becoming the second youngest player to do so, although she still must be a tour member for 10 years (in her case, 2012) to become eligible for induction.
